Best Roofers in Warner Robins, GA: 3 Certified Contractors, Scored and Verified

Short answer: As of October 2026, the three highest-scoring roofing contractors in the Warner Robins, GA metro on The Roofing Brief Contractor Score are A1 Roofing and Construction (72.7), Whitt’s Quality Roofing (68.7), Cutting Edge Roofing & Renovations (66.6). Each is certified by a manufacturer whose register we checked by hand, each rating has been tested against a source outside that register, and nobody bought a place on this page.

The Roofing Brief scored 3 certified roofing contractors serving the Warner Robins metro on a published, reproducible formula, then researched each of the top three individually to confirm its record. Warner Robins is an Air Force town with a young housing stock, and its roof damage comes from wind: tornadoes along the Perry to Warner Robins corridor, including an EF2 on Georgia’s record tornado day of 21 January 2017, and the inland remnants of Irma, Michael and Helene. No hail of two inches fell in the decade. Georgia does not license roofers. Three certified firms appear in the directory, all based in Houston or Peach County, and all three are ranked.

What a Warner Robins roof is up against

Georgia’s Department of Law says plainly that roofers are not required to be licensed by the state. Roofing is specialty work outside the residential and general contractor licence under O.C.G.A. 43-41-17(f), so no exam, bond or recovery fund stands behind a roofing-only firm. Under O.C.G.A. 10-1-393.12 you may cancel a roofing contract paid from insurance before midnight on the fifth business day after the insurer’s written denial, the roofer may take no payment before then, and it may not negotiate your claim unless it is a licensed public adjuster. Georgia has no statute against deductible rebates.

Georgia’s mandatory residential code from 1 January 2026 is the 2024 International Residential Code with state amendments, which delete the code’s administrative chapter and leave permits to each local government. The City of Warner Robins prices permits by value under its code: on its most recent published schedule a $12,000 reroof costs about $52. Unincorporated Houston County does not publish its fees online. We could not confirm whether the city requires a permit for a like-for-like reroof, so ask.

Across 2016 to 2025 Houston and Peach counties logged 14 hail reports, none of two inches and the largest 1.75 inches, 129 thunderstorm wind reports and 15 tornadoes, ten of them EF0. The strongest measured gust was 72 knots, about 83 mph, at Robins Air Force Base on 1 April 2016. Tropical storms are filed by forecast zone and sit outside those counts; Irma alone recorded $300,000 of damage in Houston County.

Housing here is young: the metro’s median home was built in 1993, and 43 percent of homes date from 2000 or later. Inside the city of Warner Robins 46.5 percent of homes are rented, a reflection of the base.

  • A1 Roofing and Construction LLC, active and in compliance, with annual registrations filed each year since 2019.. Georgia corporate record via OpenCorporates
  • Serves Macon, Warner Robins and all of Middle Georgia; shingle, metal, repairs and gutters alongside remodelling.. Company about page

What they actually do. Shingle and metal roofing, storm repairs, gutters and siding, plus general remodelling.

Why it ranks here. The top score in the pool: a 4.9 across 94 reviews from a Warner Robins firm on Tucker Place, BBB accredited since 2019 with no complaints.

Best fit for: Warner Robins homeowners who want a local firm with a clean record.

What we would want clarified. It is a roofing-led general home improvement firm whose services run to painting, sheetrock and flooring. Its record dates from 2018. Georgia issues no roofing licence to check. Certification tier and reviews are unverified. We publish this because a ranking that only prints the flattering findings is an advertisement, not an assessment.

Verify the certification yourself on the GAF registry listing. The number carried on that listing is (478) 330-6711, which is the registry’s contact line and is often a directory tracking number rather than the contractor’s own: take the number from the company’s own website and compare the two.

2. Whitt’s Quality Roofing — TRB Score 68.7

Whitt’s Quality Roofing is based in Byron, GA, led by Leroy Whitt, owner and founder, Not accredited; not rated; no complaints, and holds Certified standing on the GAF certification registry.

Certifications held: Certified (GAF), Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. Certification by more than one manufacturer is uncommon and requires meeting each programme’s separate standards for insurance, training and track record.

Why it ranks here. A roofing-only firm run by its founder in Byron, Peach County, inside the metro, with a 4.8 across 102 reviews, the deepest record in the pool, and Owens Corning Preferred status.

Best fit for: Perry and Byron homeowners, and metal or low-slope roofs.

What we would want clarified. Its founding year is 2005 on its own site and 2013 on BBB. It is not BBB accredited and has no BBB rating. Its site names other manufacturers but not GAF. Why it ranks here. A small Bonaire roofer, inside Houston County, with a perfect 5.0 across 12 reviews.

Best fit for: Bonaire and south Houston County homeowners comfortable doing their own checks.

What we would want clarified. The thinnest record we rank: no website, no BBB profile and no owner confirmed on any register, and the current corporation dates only from August 2024, which sits awkwardly with directory claims that it has traded since 2002. Ask for insurance certificates and references before signing. Certification tier and reviews are unverified. We publish this because a ranking that only prints the flattering findings is an advertisement, not an assessment.

Verify the certification yourself on the GAF registry listing. The number carried on that listing is (478) 420-0948, which is the registry’s contact line and is often a directory tracking number rather than the contractor’s own: take the number from the company’s own website and compare the two.

The 129 wind reports that shape a Warner Robins roof

Aggregate hail counts tell you very little about a specific roof. These are the individual events: every severe-weather report logged by the National Weather Service across the 2 counties of the Warner Robins, GA statistical area over ten years, with the dates, the stone sizes and the towns they landed on. Over that decade the metro logged 14 hail reports, 129 severe thunderstorm and high wind reports and 15 tornadoes. Reported property damage from hail, severe wind and tornado over that decade totalled $2.3 million; flood and winter-storm losses are counted separately and are not included.

The biggest hail to fall on Warner Robins in a decade

Date Stone size Reported near County
6 April 2022 1.75 in Houston Houston
19 March 2018 1.75 in Henderson Houston
7 September 2023 1.5 in Houston Lake Houston
30 December 2021 1.5 in Houston Lake Houston
30 December 2021 1.5 in Sand Bed Houston
10 June 2024 1.25 in Henderson Houston

The largest stone on record for this metro fell on 6 April 2022 near Houston, measured at 1.75 inches. That is ping-pong-ball sized, enough to bruise asphalt shingles and shorten a roof’s life without necessarily looking dramatic from the ground.

Wind. The strongest thunderstorm gust logged in the metro was 72 knots, about 83 mph, near Elberta on 1 April 2016. Asphalt shingles begin lifting at roughly 67 mph when they are correctly nailed, and considerably below that when they are not.

Tornadoes. 15 tornadoes touched down in these counties over the decade, the strongest rated EF3 near Bonaire on 5 April 2022.

What the National Weather Service wrote about it

The NWS logs a written account of each severe-weather episode. This is its description of the 1 April 2016 event near Elberta, reproduced verbatim:

The automated weather observation equipment at Robins Air Force Base, KWRB, reported a wind gust of 72 knots from the southwest at 0753 AM EDT.

That account is the design case for a roof here, and it comes from the agency that recorded it rather than by a contractor selling the repair.

When it happens. Severe weather reports cluster in June (31), August (30), April (22). The worst years on record were 2023 (48), 2017 (21), 2022 (21). If you are scheduling non-urgent work in Warner Robins, the months outside that window are when crews are least stretched and least likely to be triaging emergency callouts ahead of your job.

What to do with this. Hail is not the governing risk in Warner Robins. Weight your decision toward wind rating, ventilation and flashing detail rather than paying extra for impact-rated shingles.

Wind, not hail, along the Perry corridor

On 21 January 2017 Georgia set records for tornadoes in a single day: 27 statewide and 23 in the Peachtree City forecast area. One, an EF2 with 115 mph winds, crossed western Houston County. The NWS survey found it threw two large HVAC units about 50 yards off the top of the Walmart, blew in the auto bay doors and lifted the roof, and on Windmill Court and Hidden Creek Circle blew most of the roof off one house.

The base itself has been hit. On 1 April 2016 an EF1 with 90 mph winds crossed Centerville and northern Warner Robins, dropping large trees on homes, and stripped large pieces of metal roof from a maintenance hangar just inside Robins Air Force Base; the base station measured an 83 mph gust that morning. A year later, on 3 April 2017, another EF1 up to 600 yards wide crossed northern Centerville and Warner Robins to the north end of the base, with trees striking several homes.

Tropical storms reach this far inland. The remnants of Irma on 11 September 2017 blew the roof off a business and dropped trees on several houses in Perry and took a church steeple off in Warner Robins. Michael in 2018, Zeta in 2020 and Helene in 2024 followed, Helene bringing a 51 mph gust at the base.

Hail, by contrast, has been a minor story: 14 reports in ten years, none of two inches. The costliest was golf-ball hail at an RV park near Henderson in March 2018.

So the questions for a Warner Robins roofer are about wind: the shingle’s wind rating, how the eaves, rakes and ridge will be fastened, and how the deck is attached. After a tornado or a tropical storm, remember that Georgia gives you five business days to cancel after a denial, and that the roofer may not take payment or negotiate your claim in the meantime.

Three things to confirm before work starts in Warner Robins

There is no state roofing licence in GA. Georgia does not require a state roofing licence. The State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors treats roofers as an exempt specialty contractor, so no state licensure is needed for residential or commercial roofing work.

Some Georgia roofers voluntarily hold a Residential Basic Contractor, Residential Light Commercial or General Contractor licence, or join the Georgia Roofing Contractors Association, purely as a credibility signal. Local city and county licensing requirements still apply.

That absence is the most important fact on this page. Where a state issues no credential, a manufacturer certification that can be revoked is the only quality signal a homeowner can actually check, which is why this ranking is built on certification rather than star ratings.

Check here: Georgia State Licensing Board. Because the state exempts roofers, check the county or municipal business licence where the work will happen, and lean harder on manufacturer certification.

Four checks to run before you sign anything, in any state.

  1. Verify certification at the source. Use the GAF verification tool rather than trusting a badge image on a company website.
  2. Get the certificate of insurance from the insurer, not the contractor, and confirm general liability and workers compensation are both active on the day work starts.
  3. Confirm who pulls the permit. If a contractor asks you to pull it as the homeowner, that moves liability onto you. Decline.
  4. Get warranty terms in writing before any deposit, and check the manufacturer warranty being promised actually requires the certification tier the contractor holds.

How these Warner Robins rankings were produced

Every contractor in the Warner Robins, GA pool was scored out of 100 on four published components: certification tier, a Bayesian adjusted rating, review depth and distance from the metro centre. In this metro that meant scoring 3 certified contractors, of whom 0 hold President’s Club standing and 0 Master Elite, against a metro mean rating of 4.9. The top three were then researched individually against Better Business Bureau records, state licence registers and manufacturer directories. Anything unflattering that research surfaced appears above alongside the rest, and no company bought its position.

The full method, the weightings, what the GAF certification tiers actually mean, who is eligible to be ranked and what we do not claim are all set out on our roofer ranking methodology page. What was the worst hailstorm in Warner Robins in the last ten years?

The largest hailstone logged by the National Weather Service in the Warner Robins, GA statistical area between 2016 and 2025 measured 1.75 inches, reported near Houston on 6 April 2022. Georgia does not require a state roofing licence. The State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors treats roofers as an exempt specialty contractor, so no state licensure is needed for residential or commercial roofing work. The NWS survey found it threw two large HVAC units about 50 yards off the top of the Walmart, blew in the auto bay doors and lifted the roof, and on Windmill Court and Hidden Creek Circle blew most of the roof off one house.

Is Warner Robins a hard market to find a good roofer in?

Warner Robins is an Air Force town with a young housing stock, and its roof damage comes from wind: tornadoes along the Perry to Warner Robins corridor, including an EF2 on Georgia’s record tornado day of 21 January 2017, and the inland remnants of Irma, Michael and Helene. No hail of two inches fell in the decade. Georgia does not license roofers. Three certified firms appear in the directory, all based in Houston or Peach County, and all three are ranked.

Is wind or hail the bigger risk to a roof in Warner Robins?

Wind, by a wide margin. The Warner Robins, GA statistical area logged 129 severe thunderstorm and high wind reports against 14 hail reports of an inch or more between 2016 and 2025. Wind damage shows up at the rake, ridge and edge rather than across the field of the roof, so the fastening schedule and edge detail matter more here than the impact rating of the shingle.
